Quick Overview:

2006 Vintage

D.O. Rias Baixas Spain
Grape Variety: 100% Albariño

The term “En Rama” (“unfiltered”) is used to refer to a wine that has barely been manipulated and which hence remains true to its origins. Starting from very ripe Albariño grapes from old vineyards, and following a delicate production process, this wine has rested on fine lees for several years, slowly maturing towards its bottling. It endures no clarification or stabilization whatsoever.

The best grapes are selected and sorted in the cellar to make this wine.  De-stemmed berries are gently pressed. Settling at a low temperature during 36 hours. The must is then selected for those musts with more suitable characteristics for this wine style. Starter with wild yeasts. Aged on its fine lees in stainless steel tanks from the end of the alcoholic fermentation (October 2006) to its bottling (July, 2009)  It endures no clarification or stabilization whatsoever.

Straw-yellow colour, clean and brilliant. The nose is remarkable for its plain varietal character, floral (acacia, rose petal) and vegetal (rock rose, lavender), with hints of honey and a pleasant and enticing complexity. On the palate it is opulent, silky, oily and satiny, as well as flavorful and with well-integrated acidity. Its finish is powerful, floral with herbaceous notes as well as of fruit compote, with a very lively and lingering aftertaste.

Serve at 12-14ºC.
